Accessing same vmware virtual hardisk from windows as well as Linux

Add the following line to vmware configuration file

mainMem.useNamedFile=FALSE

(scenario:
Dual boot: Linux/Windows
a common partition (NTFS) mounted on linux also
installed vmware on both OS
Without the parameter virtual machines created in WIndows wont boot in Linux)
